The Price family have been at Moorcourt since 1961, when William Price and family moved from a rural hill farm at Hundred House near Builth Wells 30 miles away.
The farm has gradually expanded over the past 60 years from 270 acres, and we currently farm over 600 acres. Predominantly a livestock farm, the farm then diversified in the 1990’s into cider apples and again diversified further into top and soft fruit in the 2000’s.
Livestock are still a key part of the farm here at Moorcourt Farm and currently we keep approximately 175 beef cattle which are fed a mixed diet based on home produced silage, home produced straw and home-grown cereals.
Three generations currently live at Moorcourt Farm with the youngest keen to get involved at every stage of growing and harvesting of the fruit and are chief tasters of the berries.

We are a mixed enterprise farm and produce combinable crops (wheat and oil seed rape) which are harvested in the summer months using a combine harvester. We use some of the wheat as feed for our livestock and the remainder is sold onto the national market for animal feed and bread making and the oil seed rape is sold and used to make animal feed and cooking oil.
The farm also has 150 acres of cider apples which are all mechanically harvested in the autumn and supplied to several cider makers ranging from small scale artisan producers to nationally known brands.
Our Produce
Grown in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside our fruit is nurtured from blossom to berry to ensure that the tastiest summer fruit is available.
Surrounded by the rolling hills of the north of the county, our location provides a later season for harvesting which combined with the rich soil of Herefordshire ensures we can produce premium fruit bursting with flavour.
All our cider apple and cherry trees are pruned by hand each year and our team of staff spend up to 3 months a year hand pruning to ensure the tree is in the best shape to support a large crop.
All our strawberries, raspberries, cherries and blueberries are hand-picked daily and in peak season we employ seasonal staff who help us harvest our berries.
With over 20 years’ experience in growing fruit and a passion for traditional flavour and quality, you can be sure of the very best berries Herefordshire has to offer.
We employ good farming practice in all aspects of our production and take special care of the environment around us. We are accredited members of Red Tractor.
“The cherries grown at Moorcourt farm are of excellent quality and flavour – we shall certainly buy them again. Every year our children and grandchildren go crazy for these colourful cherries – perfect for a pudding, picnic or packed lunch.”
